September 2010 - 22 students and 3 staff from Buenos Aires on a cultural tour of the UK

Book Club Tours recently arranged a twelve day visit to the United Kingdom on our behalf. We would like to compliment this company for their friendly and highly efficient service. On arrival we received a very comprehensive guide book which contained the itinerary and every booking made was supported by relevant documentation. All our pre-trip requests had been fully taken into consideration and everything went very well indeed. Book Club Tours have obviously built up very positive, personal and professional working relationships with the companies they hire to provide the services required. We were also very impressed by the excellent level of support we received during the trip. This company is highly recommendable for school groups who are planning visits to the U.K.; the personal attention received at all stages was excellent. This is a company which is prepared 'to go the extra mile' to ensure that everything goes as planned and customer satisfaction is very high.

October 2010 - 30 adults from the UK on a birthday celebration weekend to Normandy

Thank you for arranging our trip to the D-Day landings. The service we received was friendly, individual and very efficient. From the private lounge on the ferry to the charming and courteous service in the hotel, from the efficiency of our driver Ray to the enthusiasm and expertise of our guide Graeme, from the delicious dinner to picnic lunch at Pegasus Bridge, all ran easily and effectively.

I enjoyed it so much and it was the best weekend I have had for a long time. I would certainly be interested in going again. I thoroughly enjoyed the talk we did on Sunday afternoon and the author, Robin Bailey, was absolutely gorgeous!!

June 2011 - 94 girls and 11 staff from Methodist Ladies' College, Perth on an international music tour

On 30 June 2011 a logistical miracle was achieved when 94 girls from MLC, aged 12 to 18, around 70 instruments and 11 staff travelled to the UK to kick off the school's fifth International Music Tour. The 18-day tour presented some very special performance opportunities in between the major festivals and competitions. These included performances by the Chorale and Barbershop at Hays Galleria and by all four ensembles on the famous Clapham Common Bandstand. Thanks to Book Club Tours for arranging the UK leg of our tour.

July 2011 - 34 students and 5 staff from Redfoot Youth Theatre, Perth on a drama tour of the UK

2011 saw a party of 34 Redfoot members heading to the UK for a feast of theatre. We took our own devised version of the Batavia story and performed to UK audiences throughout the country. Whilst in the UK we spent time in Stratford upon Avon and staff marvelled at the incredible facilities, and enjoyed three quality productions to boot. Whilst in London, we were able to see a further eight West End productions in what proved to be a real theatre education.

November 2011 - 22 students and 2 staff from Woking 6th Form College on a WW1 literature tour in the Ypres Salient

The trip was brilliantly organised by Book Club Tours and apart from college paperwork there was nothing left to organise ourselves. The tour was tailored to the needs of our A2 literature students and our guide, Andre, did a fantastic job. All the students gained so much from what he had to say about the WW1 poets which they will use in their coursework. Overall it was an excellent trip and I would recommend Book Club Tours to other colleges and schools.

June/July 2012 - 9 students and 7 staff from St Columbans College, Australia on a literature tour to the UK

About the Romeo & Juliet Workshop with the RSC in Stratford upon Avon. 'Simon was fantastic. He had so much energy and a great sense of humour. We all enjoyed his enthusiasm and his passion for his topic. This was a very quick 2 hours but we learnt so much. I have already used some of his methods in my classes on Shakespeare.'

About their guided visit to York Minster. 'Jeremy was a doll. He took us all over the place and was absolutely passionate about the Minster. What a fascinating place and absolutely beautiful. One of our boys was thrilled about being able to go into the crypt.'

About the Book Club Tours tour pack provided for our clients. 'The folder given to me by Carol Myhill in England was fantastic with all the necessary information set out clearly and simply. It was great'

'The Poland trip went extremely well. And the weather - bright sunshine but snow on the ground - was really impressive. The Auschwitz tour was different to the normal one - but much better - the guide said we had a study tour instead. The girls were extremely moved.'

April /May 2014 - 37 adults from Esk Community Choir in Australia on a tour to Ireland and the UK

'Recently Esk Community Choir from Queensland Australia began their first UK tour partaking in the 60th Cork International Choral Festival - the first Australian choir to do so. What a thrill, not only to enjoy and take part but also to be so warmly welcomed. We loved Ireland, we loved the people. The organisation of our tour was superb. The accommodation was excellent and we couldn't believe how lucky we were with the weather. Our guides and bus drivers were charming and helpful so a great big thank you to Carol from 37 very happy and weary travellers.'

May 2014 - 8 adults from the After Hours Book Club on a weekend break to Eyam, the Plague Village

'We have had a fantastic time this weekend although very wet on Thursday so not suitable for a long walk we went to Bakewell on the way up and tried Bakewell pudding . Checked in hotel which was perfect for our stay attentive staff and wonderful food. A walk around Hathersage with a trip to the church seeing Little John's grave. The pub meal was very filling with plenty of wine we stayed for the quiz ( came 2nd) then were persuaded to stay for the bingo!! Well glad we did we won the line and the full house £145 , 8 very happy ladies walking back to the hotel.

Eyam was really interesting and took our whole day, the only thing we could not see was where the open air services were held, this is on private ground and only open one day a year in August.

A beautiful meal in the evening at the hotel, the winnings made a good dent in the bill!

Saturday we all enjoyed our time at Chatsworth.

Thank you so much for the organisation of everything it worked like clock work.'
