Day Trips for Schools

We offer a range of literary and cultural day trips for schools, the aim of which is to enhance the pupils' understanding of the texts and authors they have been studying and to offer such things as specialist guides, workshops, exhibitions, venue tours and theatre tickets.

Below are suggestions for Shakespeare and Dickens day trips to London but you can pick and mix exactly what you want to do and add anything else and we will organise it for you. We can research and arrange trips relevant to any authors, playwrights or poets that pupils may be studying. For example we can call on specialist guides for Keats, Byron, Oscar Wilde, Marlowe, Donne, Orwell, Virginia Woolf, Henry James and Monica Ali to name but a few. We can also organise theatre tickets, workshops, visits to little-known museums, meals, expert guides and anything else that will make your day memorable.

Our combined experience of organising travel for school parties spans over 17 years so we are well aware of risk assessment, time constraints and value for money. Our aim is to take the strain away from staff so that they too can enjoy a meticulously planned, fascinating and truly worthwhile day out with their pupils.

We also have experience of sending schools and other groups to France and Belgium to study both World War 1 and World War 2 concentrating either on the history or literature of these periods.  Once again trips are designed to suit each group individually.  We recently organised a very successful one-night trip to Ypres for a sixth form college to study the WW1 poets with the aid of a specialist guide.  See our Testimonial page for their reflections on their trip. We also organised a very successful trip to Poland for a school group as part of their history curriculum and they found their visits to Auschwitz-Birkenau, Schindler's factory museum and the Wieliczka salt mine very informative and thought-provoking.
