J K Rowling

the Gryffindor Crest-Harry Potter's school houseThe hugely popular Harry Potter books are loved by both children and adults alike. Following a tour of the landmarks used in the books and films is a splendid theme for a light-hearted short Harry Potter break.

What could our book club do?

  • For smaller groups we can arrange a 3-hour taxi trip around London, calling at Diagon Alley, The Leaky Cauldron, Gringott's Bank, Platform 9¾ and many other famous Harry Potter locations.
  • Larger groups can do a similar tour by coach with a specialist guide - he's only a muggle but pretty good despite that!
  • Visit Regent's Park Zoo and stand on the spot in the reptile house where Harry Potter learnt he could speak in Parseltongue to snakes.
  • Enjoy a private Harry Potter walk with magic tricks.
  • A 2-hour guided walk in Oxford will show you many locations from the films including the Hogwart's staircase, dining room and infirmary.
  • It may suit you to stop at Gloucester for a guided tour of the Cathedral where you will recognise the cloisters from many scenes in the films.
